Great Grandma Homemade Flour Tortillas 🤎

More than a recipe. It’s a family tradition.

Some of my favorite childhood memories were made in the kitchen with my great grandmother, Maria, rolling out homemade flour tortillas together.

Like so many great grandmothers, Maria didn’t use measuring cups or carefully written instructions. She cooked by feel, by memory, and always with love. A little of this, a handful of that... and somehow, it was perfect every single time.

Recreating her tortillas wasn’t quite so easy! It took me years of experimenting, adjusting, and trying again to finally develop a measured recipe that brought me back to the tortillas I remembered making with her.

And now, every time I roll out that dough, I feel like I’m honoring a little piece of her memory. 🤎

Today, the tradition continues in my own kitchen as I make these tortillas with my daughter and nieces, passing along something that began generations before them.
